Hildreth, Charles Clifford (Engels)

Charles was the youngest of three children. He grew up at there farm in Stone Creek. His father already passed away in 1928. Charles was a carpenter.

In December 1941 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he completed he basic training in Hamilton. In October 1942 he left for England. Early 1943 he was stationed at the 22e Operational Training Unit in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. From March 1943 he was part of the 428e squadron in Dalton.

Buried: R.K. Begraafplaats in Deurningen.

Remembered at the Bomber Command Memorial Wall in Nanton, Alberta.

Awarded with the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the War Medal, the 1939-1945 Star and the Europe Star.
