Douglas grew up with his sister in Tottenham. His father was a soldier at the  Royal Field Artillery at the First World War. After that he was a papermachinist. At the moment more is not known about his family.

Based on his servicenumber he entered the Royal Air Force Voluntair Reserve Pilots in januar 1937. 

Buried: N.H. Begraafplaats in Ootmarsum.

Awarded with the War Medal, the 1939-1945 Star and the Europe Star.
