Torn Broers, Johannes (Engels)

The family Torn Broers lived since April 1934 with there five children at the Prins Hendrikstraat 6 in Denekamp. John was spinner.

He had been working in Germany since the end of June 1940, probably as a frontier worker. He was arrested by the S.D. at November 21, 1943 and taken to the Arbeitserziehungslager in Lahde, Kreis Minden. Here he passed away one month later.

The detention in these camps was just as bad as those in concentration camps. In particular were the AEL 21 in Salzgitter and the AEL Lahde as “death camps feared. The prisoners were used here for the construction of a nuclear power plant.

Buried: Evangelischer Friedhof in Lahde.
