Arthur grew up together with his younger brother Henry on the Hills Farm at Kilmington. Although he was free of duty because he worked on the farm, he voluntered for duty in October 1941.

On Juni 13, 1943 their plane got shot and crashed at Volthe luckily he had a change to jump out. He landed badly hurt in Beuningen on the land of widow Mollink. The Mollink family then warned the police and a doctor from Denekamp. After he received treatment on his two broken legs, a shotwound in his left leg, he was still unconscious and the family carried him in.

After half an hour a German Red Crosscar took him to a hospital in the German city Gronau. Here Trott died the same day of his injuries.

Buried R.K. Cementery in Gronau, later on reburied on th Reichswald Forest War Cementery in Kleef, Germany, grave 24.A.14

Text on grave: ‘O Father of all, we pray too Thee for those whom we love but see no longer.’

Awarded with the War Medal, the 1939-1945 Star and the Air Crew Europe Star. 

Remembered with a memioral stone at Kilmington.
